Peyton May Out, Playoff Return in Doubt

Denver’s Peyton May, 2B, is out with knee tendinitis and will miss the rest of 2018. His status for the playoffs remains in doubt.

Denver Danger’s top hitter, second baseman Peyton May, learned that his knee contusion is actually much more serious, and he will now miss the rest of the regular season with knee tendinitis.

The 31-year-old, who has generally been healthy throughout his career, was listed as day-to-day on Tuesday. Doctors will evaluate May after the regular season ends, and determine whether he will be healthy enough to return for the playoffs, should Denver make the postseason. De Soto, Russillo Re-Up in Miami, Toronto

Xavier “Pistolero” de Soto will remain in Miami for the next 2 seasons after signing a $32 million extension

As the season runs down its pennant race, two teams are taking an opportunity to lock-in their talent for the 2019 season. Xavier de Soto and Adam Russillo have extended their contracts with the Miami Storm and the Toronto Nomads respectively.

Hot-hitting de Soto, who leads the AEL in batting with a .389 average, and also has 19 bombs and 63 RBIs along with a smattering of stolen bases, will remain in Miami for the next two seasons after inking an extension worth $32 million in total. Speeders On Top Again for Week #13

The see-saw has swung back to the Nevada Speeders, who once again find themselves on top of the Weekly Team Power Rankings for Week #13 in the Bull League.

The Speeders took 2 of three from Arizona to open their road trip, before crossing the country to fly to St. Petersburg where they are so far split in the first two games of a four-game set. Rosters Expand as Teams Prepare for Pennant Runs

Today is roster expansion day in the Bull League, as the teams prepare for their pennant runs going down the stretch of the last four-plus weeks of baseball.

The season officially closes on September 7, assuming there are no tie-breaking games to be played. But for the last month of the season or so the teams are allowed to expand their 25-man roster to 40 players and include some much needed depth to preserve their regulars and stars for possible playoff runs.
