(GAME DATE — Sep.9, 2019) — The Dallas Deputies have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, and will likely finish the 2019 season in last place for the sixth year in a row. But, despite the disappointing showing, the team’s proponents and front office remain hopeful for a big turnaround in the near future.
They did not crash to the depths of their 2014 season, when they finished that 82-game schedule with a paltry 21-61 (.256) record, instead cruising to a 55-87 (.387) showing so far this year, and on track to have their 4th best all-time finish. (Game date: Sep. 30, 2018) — The American Eagle League, which was born out of the ashes of the Southern League in 1991, has been renamed to the Metropolitan League for the 2019 season, it was announced today.

Earlier this evening, Chicago announced two major trades and the Toronto Nomads joined them with a deal of their own. But there is late-breaking news that two more trades were completed today, making this the busiest day for trades in league history.

The Toronto Nomads and the Dallas Deputies agreed to terms that will see a major hole plugged in the Nomads’ infield, while seeding the Deputies with one of the league’s top pitching prospects.
