The Calgary Home Run Factory went into overdrive tonight in a high-scoring affair against the visiting Dallas Deputies at Inferno Park in front of 37,070 frenzied fans. Israel Medina walked it off in the bottom of the ninth with one out in classic Inferno style, with a home run over the left field wall to win it 11-10.

The Dallas Deputies today announced they have traded shortstop Kenta Nakayama and minor league center fielder Takashi Matsuda to the Denver Danger, in return for starting RHP Count Montecristo.

The Dallas Deputies will receive CF Steven Miller, a speedy multi-role utility player who went .279 last year with a pair of homers and 6 RBIs. The Dallas Deputies are not done with their off-season re-tooling, as was made clear earlier today when they announced a deal to acquire 28-year-old LHP Bob Oliver from the rebuilding California Tidals, in exchange for a pair of minor league prospects.
Oliver was decidedly uninspiring last season with the Tidals, going 6-11, and ballooning a 5.43 ERA. Over 127.2 innings, he allowed 77 earned runs and 43 walks, giving him a 1.53 WHIP for the season. Continue reading “Deps Acquire Bob Oliver”
