Josh Hicks was announced as the new GM of the Battle Creek Attack today, and in a not-too-surprising announcement, revealed that he plans to convince ownership to relocate the franchise.

The Dallas Deputies have pulled the trigger on two trades that analysts say may have set back their progress towards being a playoff contender by at least a few more seasons.
Earlier today, the Deputies traded their top hitting regular, SS Celestino Caparica (.294/.353/.423, 8 HR, 30 RBI, 12 SB) and recently-signed right-hander Marco Helms, who last played for the Salts, where he went 9-5 with a 2.96 ERA and impressive 131 K’s over 118.2 innings. Detroit Motorheads have agreed to a trade with state rivals Battle Creek Attack that will see the Motor City team send 28-year-old Norman Jansen and $250,000, in return for draftee Shunichi Nagai.

The Battle Creek Attack and Seattle Salts opened the off-season trading period with a three-player deal that will see veteran Attack catcher Mike Jennings go to Seattle for 2B Jon Fulcher and minor-league CF Matt Birdsong.

The AA-level Heifer League’s regular season has come to a close, and the four divisional title winners will move on to the two-round playoff starting tomorrow. The four playoff teams are the Barn League’s Savannah Buccanners, and the Spokane North Stars, and the Pasture League’s Nashville Misfits and the Anchorage Sky Chiefs.
