Cruz on Fire: 5-for-6 for Milwaukee

(GAME DATE — May 27, 2020) — Milwaukee Hops center fielder Tony Cruz  wielded a big stick today against the Norfolk Sharks and his club walked off the field winners by the score of 14-7. Cruz helped tame Norfolk with 5 hits in 6 at-bats. “Dandy” Cruz singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.

Opening Day Freak Accident Sidelines Dragons’ Santana

Willie Santana, the rookie center fielder for the New York Dragons, will miss today’s opening day game against the Ohio Oxen after tripping on a tarp while heading onto the field prior to today’s game.

Dragons Kimura Gets Hit #1500

Dragons’ veteran 1B Setsuo Kimura notched his 1500th hit tonight as his team steamrolled the Toronto Nomads 11-6 to a home town crowd of 45,412 fans tonight.

Veteran 1B-man Kimura broke the 1500 hits mark tonight in a huge 3-for-4 game against Toronto, hitting 2 homers off Nomads’ Knuckles Malone

The 38-year-old left-handed batter from Yokohama was 3-for-4 tonight in what was a huge 4-RBI, 2 HR game. It was his first multi-home run game since June 15. The pair of long balls were joined by another from Tony Cruz, and all three were hit off of Nomads ace Knuckles Malone. They followed two given up by Malone in his previous start, a 4-3 loss to Battle Creek, and in the space of just two starts Malone has now given up 5 home runs – his first home runs allowed in his Bull League career.
