Freedom Tripp Tames California

Dave Tripp allowed 3 hits while giving up 1 walk and collecting 7 strikeouts as the Washington Freedom blanked the California Tidals, 3-0.

In the postgame interview, the 25-year-old right-hander said he was focused on “trying to keep the ball down and letting guys put it in play.”

“It worked for me today,” Tripp said.

 

Salazar Twirls Freedom to Shutout Win

(GAME DATE — June 23, 2020) — Washington Freedom pitcher Willie Salazar did his job to perfection today, blanking the Calgary Inferno at Liberty Field. He scattered 5 hits while striking out 6 in the complete game 1-0 shutout win.

Hops Stymie Montreal, Take 5-0 Win

(GAME DATE — June 3, 2020) — It was a fun time at Brauhaus, where the Montreal Metros and Milwaukee Hops tangled, with Hops left-hander Brian Martin pitching his team to a 4-hit shutout win. Milwaukee has now won 3 in a row.

Martel Shuts Out Pittsburgh

(GAME DATE — May 15, 2020) — The Pittsburgh Iron Pigs had no answer today for Montreal Metros pitcher Judson Martel. They failed to score a single run against him, losing 4-0. Pittsburgh managed only 2 hits off Martel, who had 8 strikeouts.
