Closer Lands in Nevada “Niceley”

Reliever Joe Niceley has come to terms with the Nevada Speeders, and will report to the team for Spring Training after signing a 3-year, $24.5 million contract, it was announced today.

Recent Signings Include Bricknell, Ohata and Davila

The holiday period has proven to be a busy one for big-name free agent signings, as three popular stars landed big contracts just before Christmas.

Kremer Signs with Nevada in Stunning Surprise

The Nevada Speeders have pulled off another coup, just days after signing hot international free agents Chitoji Yamada, and most recently, Raul Abarca, they have landed highly sought-after closer Nate Kremer.

Raul Abarca Signs with Speeders

The Nevada Speeders have signed a 3-year deal with international free agent Raul Abarca, a 29-year-old from Cuba.

Though naturally a right fielder with a cannon for an arm, pundits expect the team may transition him to first base, where 2011 first-round draft pick Glen Bedard played in 2017, or possibly to the designated-hitter role. Continue reading “Raul Abarca Signs with Speeders”

St. Andrew’s Day Series Games a Success

This year the St. Andrew’s Day Series saw all 20 teams in action, and some surprising results.

The 2nd annual St. Andrew’s Day Series took place yesterday, and was a resounding success by all accounts. For the first year, the exhibition games involved all 20 teams in the Bull League, and fans, scouts and GMs were treated to some great performances by the players.

At most of the games, a pre-game ceremony involving the famous Robert Burns “Address to a Haggis” took place, as bagpipes played and a Scotch whiskey toast was drunk by the invited guests. Continue reading “St. Andrew’s Day Series Games a Success”
