Groves to Stay in Milwaukee at Least 2 More Years

(GAME DATE — Jan 1, 2020) — Last month, the Lake League MVP and 2018 Rookie of the Year, Les Groves, inked a 2-year extension that will see the 29-year-old Aussie catcher stay in a Milwaukee Hops uniform for at least two more seasons after 2020.

Hops Hope for First Playoff in Long Shot Wildcard Race

(GAME DATE — Sep. 9, 2019) — The Milwaukee Hops are hoping to land their first ever playoff spot in a frantic “down to the wire” wild card race as the season enters the final weeks of play.

Like the Arizona Cowboys, who also came into being in the 2012 expansion, the Hops are on track to have their first finish above .500 this season, and are currently 74-70 (.514). Roster Expanding as Pennant Chase Heats Up

(GAME DATE — Aug. 29, 2019) — The Bull League is entering its final month of play for the 2019 season, and the pennant chase will really start in earnest, as teams active rosters expand to 40 players for the final weeks.

Several teams are expected to make some big moves, with those locked-in teams using the extra roster spaces to bring in new players who can allow their veterans some rest ahead of the playoffs, while out-of-contention teams will give their upcoming stars a chance to shine before the offseason roster decisions get made.
