Ohio 1B Goyle collected hit #1000 tonight in a losing effort in Louisville

Ohio Oxen slugger Garth Goyle has reached base safely a milestone 1,000th time tonight. The 34-year-old veteran first baseman was proud of his accomplishment, coming in just his 3rd year with the Oxen. He previously played 11 seasons with the Montreal Metros, where he earned 790 of those hits.

Jesse Nelson Belts #300

Salts slugger Jesse Nelson hit home run #300 tonight in a loss to Dallas

The Seattle Salts took a tough extra-inning loss on the chin in Dallas tonight, dropping their 14-inning marathon game 7-6 to the Deputies. But at least one Salt was celebrating, albeit mutedly, after reaching an important career milestone.

Jesse Nelson, the second baseman for the Salts, belted a 5th inning homer that scored two runs and cut the Dallas lead to 5-4. It was his 300th career home run, and elevated the Savannah, Georgia native to a select group of just five hitters to ever reach that milestone in the Bull League. 2017 Could Prove Big Year for Milestones

Many players in the Bull League are expected to hit benchmark milestones in career statistics this season, in what will be an especially interesting and likely record-breaking year with the expanded 100-game schedule making its debut.
