Rimouski Adds Tavitas

The Rimouski Fighting Moose have added free agent outfielder Jose Tavitas to their roster today, and no doubt the 30-year-old will add yet another disciplined bat to the already stacked batting order come May.

Weinberg Stepping Down Temporarily

Rimouski Fighting Moose GM and manager Bob Weinberg has stepped down from his role effective today, allowing former GM and current Assistant GM Dylan Hall to take the reins.

Recent Signings Include Bricknell, Ohata and Davila

Bricknell Shuts Down Moose to Take LLCS

Montreal Metros’ pitcher Lou Bricknell threw a complete game shutout, and saw plenty of support through the batting order, on his way to a win over the Rimouski Fighting Moose that ended the Lake League Championships and saw the Metros advance to the Bull Cup.

Metros Sweep into LLCS

The Montreal Metros have swept the Boston Brawlers in the LL Elimination Round, advancing to the Lake League Championship Series in a stunning reversal of a similar match-up between the two rivals last season.

Metros SP Bricknell Tosses Masterpiece, Gets 13 K’s

The Montreal Metros rolled to an easy 7-0 win over the Toronto Ducks at Ducks Stadium today. Leading the way to victory was starter Lou Bricknell, who shackled the Ducks and held them scoreless on a 3-hitter. He also struck out 13 on the effort with no walks, making the win his best outing of 2016.

“This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there,” Bricknell said in his postgame press conference.

This year Bricknell has 8 wins and 6 losses and a 2.63 ERA. This was his first complete game shut out this year, though he had one other shut out victory on July 23 against Battle Creek.
