MacPherson Named MVP in High Scoring All-Star Match

St. Pete’s ace Jose Soto was the AEL’s starting pitcher for the All-Star Game

Norfolk Sharks catcher Earl MacPherson was named the game MVP, and first-time selection Nick Rangel of the California Tidals got the win, in a high-scoring All-Star contest between the visiting Lake League and the hosting American Eagle League tonight in Calgary.

Young Star Helps Propel American Eagle League to Win in Midseason Classic

During the star-studded affair, the 2017 American Eagle League All-Stars defeated the Lake League All-Stars by a score of 8-4.

The fans in attendance at Oxen Ballpark certainly enjoyed the show, seeing the best that the game had to offer.

Chief among the stars was Israel Medina, who led the American Eagle League to victory.

“I will admit I was nervous out there. To share a field with such incredible players is always a humbling experience. But after the first couple pitches, you just have to ignore the talent out there and focus on your game,” Medina commented as he accepted his award after the game.

In his career Medina has hit for a .289 average and totaled 98 hits, 25 home runs and 63 RBIs.

Montreal Metros Take Prestigious Blue Rose Award

The Montreal Metros has been named a Blue Rose Award winning club for the second time in the team’s history, it has been announced.
