Postseason Set to Kick Off

The 2017 Bull League Postseason is set to kick off tonight with the Lake League starting its two Elimination Round quarterfinal series.

The LL’s top seeded team, the Ohio Oxen (60-40), will take on the 4th seeded wild card Rimouski Fighting Moose (54-46) in Toledo, Ohio, while the LL East’s pennant winning Montreal Metros (59-41) take on their division rivals, wild card Boston Brawlers (56-44). Good Collects Hit Number 1,000

Ohio second baseman Justin Good finished the day with 1 hit in 4 at-bats and 1000 career hits. The Oxen also finished off the Cannons, 7-0. The 35-year-old Good added his name to the list of players in the Bull Baseball League 1000-hit club.

Good is ranked #30 on the all-time career hits list, but only 11 active players are ahead of him.

During his 946-game career Good has batted .282 and collected 1000 hits, 135 home runs and 474 RBIs.

Spring Training Starts, Predictions Announced

Spring Training opens today, with all 20 Bull League teams in action against teams in their respective leagues. Some of the players to watch include LF Alexis Rosa (Toronto), who spent just 12 games in the Bull League last season, but hit .348 at the AAA-level Cow League affiliate Brampton Longhorns, stealing 18 bases along the way, and CF Dennis Guppy (Chicoutimi), the current #1 Prospect, a blazing speedster who hit .314 at the Short Season A level last season. Justin Good Signs with Ohio

The Ohio Oxen today announced that they have reached an agreement with free agent Justin Good, a 34-year-old second baseman they have been in contract negotiations with since shortly after the season ended.

Good signed to the Oxen for $27 million a year over three years, becoming the 7th highest paid player in the Bull League.

Nicknamed “Flamethrower” since his college days, when he was briefly considered as a pitcher, Justin has a career batting average of .281, with 132 HR’s and 457 RBI’s. He spent his last three seasons with Chicoutimi, where he batted .301 last year.

Good is a nine-time Bull League all-star who won the Gold Crown offensive award at the Shortstop position four times, though he is normally a second or third baseman.

Erazo Tops List of Highest Paid in BBL

With the signing of left fielder Francisco Erazo by the Kingston Cannons yesterday to a 2-year, $76.5 million contract, the Cannons can now boast to having the highest paid player in the Bull League.

The 37-year-old veteran Erazo will make $3 million more next year than Toronto ace starter Alex Medina.

Big Bat Pays Off, Good Player of the Week

A battle-tested Justin Good declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 34-year-old Chicoutimi second baseman collected the Lake League Player of the Week Award.

He wrapped up the week with an incredible .640 average, 16 hits in 25 at-bats, 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 10 runs scored.

In 56 games this season Good has batted at a .333 pace with 72 hits and 8 home runs.
