Flurry of Deals Continues: Chicago Tees Up Two, Toronto-Ohio Deal

The trade floodgates have opened as teams decide early on whether they are contenders or not. Chicago has pulled the trigger on two major deals that will cement their status as rebuilders right into 2019 and possibly later, while Toronto and Ohio have worked out an exchange of top-level minor league talent that could impact both teams later this season.

First, Chicago has offloaded two rotation features to the Denver Danger, giving them Mario Morales and Greg Whittingdon in exchange for 2018’s NCAA home run champion Brian Goldstein (Iowa) and RF Shintaro Matsushita. Championship Inferno Look to Prospects for Dominance

The Calgary Inferno, who have won 2 of the last 3 Bull Cup Championships, appear to be on the cusp – or even the midst, some might argue after 3 straight AEL championships – of a dynasty. With some of the top offensive players in the league riddling their batting order, they can also boast several top league prospects coming up through their farm system.

Their top three “specs” are all pitchers, including two heat-hurling power pitchers and a possible curveball craftsman.
