Yang Hurt Lending a Helping Hand

Anchorage starting pitcher Hui Yang was injured yesterday while helping a friend moving into a new house. Yang is reportedly suffering from back stiffness and is expected to be out of commission for up to a week.

The injury is not expected to sideline the pitcher for spring training, which starts April 2.

$3,800,000 Lands SP Yang for Aces

The Aces and Hui Yang appeared before the Anchorage media today as the two sides emerged from marathon contract talks.

Yang, a starting pitcher, is poised to make $3,800,000 over 1 year.

During his career the 30-year-old Yang has piled up 683.2 innings. Over that time, he has fanned 657 batters, walked 156 and put up a 4.23 ERA. His lifetime won-lost mark is 37-43 and opposing clubs have hit .254 against him.
