Dominican Republic’s Granados Takes Tourney MVP Award

Dominican pitcher Efrain Granados, who plays for Utah State’s Preachers normally, won Summer College MVP

With their championship win largely due to his effort, it was no surprise that the Dominican Republic’s ace starter Efrain Granados was named the MVP of the Summer College Tournament today.

During the tourney, the 20-year-old Granados, who normally plays for the CANAM’s Utah State Preachers, went 3-1, crafting a 0.96 ERA and tournament-best 0.89 WHIP. Continue reading “Dominican Republic’s Granados Takes Tourney MVP Award”

Summer College Tourney’s First Games Played

The second annual Summer College Tournament is three days into its’ newly extended round-robin schedule, and so far there has been plenty of action for GM’s and scouts to salivate over. The tournament, which takes place in Yokohama, home of the PRCL’s Yokohama U Spirit, runs through the month of July.

The early power team to watch is the Dominican Republic, which is 3-0 but running up a +19 run differential, after routing the United States 7-0 on opening day, then dismantling South Korea yesterday, 13-4. Continue reading “Summer College Tourney’s First Games Played”
