Montreal 1B-man David Chinchilla joins the 1,000-hits club after doubling today against Chicago

Montreal Metros first baseman David Chinchilla is the newest member of the 1,000-hits club after hitting a 3rd inning bases-clearing double with two on and two outs, against Chicago’s Masato Watanabe.

It would be the 35-year-old’s only hit of the game, but it was all that the Metros needed with Judson Martel on the mound, as Chinchilla’s pair of RBIs proved to be the game winners. Martel Opens Season with 1-Hitter

Montreal’s Judson Martel was in peak form, throwing a 1-hitter in the Opening Day game against Louisville

The indomitable Metros starter Judson Martel is back with a vengeance for 2018, curing all doubters with an incredible Opening Day performance, going the full nine against Louisville and holding them to just one hit and three walks, in a 4-0 shutout win.

Rimouski Acquires Febres in Huge Trade

The Detroit Motorheads only signed him in November, but 2017’s strikeout king William Febres is going moving back to the Lake League East to play for the Rimouski Fighting Moose.

Tidals Deal Chinchilla to Montreal for Moles

The California Tidals have come to terms with the Montreal Metros on a trade deal that will see veteran 1B David Chinchilla go to Montreal in return for outfielder John Moles and RF Naoaki Sato.
