Canada’s Dan Mott Chosen in 1st Round of Draft by Tidals

The California Tidals have selected Canadian Dan Mott as their first-round pick in the 2018 Bull League draft, it has been announced today. The 23-year-old from Longueuil, Quebec, played for the Fraser Valley Preservers in 2017, and failed to sign with the Ravens organization after being picked 4th overall in 2017.

Mott, normally a closer, is popular among Canadian fans, and was named 2017 Summer College Tournament’s Best Pitcher after Canada won the tournament, and he went 2-1 with a 2.51 ERA over 14.1 innings – including two starts. 2017 Draft Pool Revealed

The Draft Pool has been approved and posted, and for the first time ever, will include non-amateurs from the independent Bull Oceanic League, as well as the top college and high school players.

There are over 2,000 eligible players in this year’s draft, although only abut 600 will be selected over the course of the 2017 First Year Player Draft. Continue reading “2017 Draft Pool Revealed”
