Admiral Surge, Pit Bulls and Sluggers Crash

The St. Petersburg Admirals continue their hot streak in the AEL’s East Division, capping the first week of June on a 4 game winning streak. They beat state rivals, the Miami Storm, 3-1 on Thursday to avoid being swept, then started a weekend home series against the California Tidals on Friday, opening with a 6-0, 3-hit shutout win, courtesy of RHP Harry Ferguson, who improves to 3-2 on the year. Cody Martin earned Player of the Week honors for the 3rd time in his career

Cody Martin (Calgary Inferno) grabbed AEL Player of the Week honors for his no-frills, business-like style of play. The 29-year-old third baseman was 13-for-28, with 4 homers, 9 RBIs, and 9 runs scored in support of the Inferno, who are tied for second in the AEL East with a 4-4 record, 1½ games behind the Norfolk Sharks.
