Rimouski In, New York Out

A postponed game between the visiting New York Dragons and the home team Rimouski Fighting Moose has decided the final Lake League wild card spot, and the Dragons will not be going to the postseason.

The final regular season game went ahead after the official end of the regular season schedule, with the Dragon’s William Febres facing off against Nick Seer for the Moose, resulting in a tight 2-1 extra-innings rain-delayed win for Rimouski, who finished the season 54-46 (.540) while the Dragons fell to 53-47 (.530). Boston Clinches Wild Card

The Boston Brawlers clinched one of two wild card spots in the Lake League, despite losing 4-3 to the first-place Montreal Metros tonight.

Salts Top the AEL West

The Seattle Salts have grabbed the division title, and playoff home advantage, despite a 3-1 loss to the Nevada Speeders today. The Salts improve to 62-36, and will likely set a club record in win percentage.

By securing the division, they re-enter the playoffs after missing the postseason in 2016, but finishing with the division pennant in 2014 and 2015. Continue reading “Salts Top the AEL West”

Metros Clinch LL East

The Montreal Metros have clinched the Lake League’s East Division, for the second year in a row, and have extended their playoff appearance streak to 12 seasons.

Malone, Glanz Injured

Toronto Nomads ace Knuckles Malone, and Anchorage Aces outfielder William Glanz were injured today and will miss the remainder of the regular season.

For Malone, elbow tendinitis was the cause, and and the injury is not expected to have lasting effects, but he will miss an opportunity to get an 11th win, and set a club record. Continue reading “Malone, Glanz Injured”
