The Florida Rookie League has seen some great pitching in several of its games, including two games that wrapped up last night that were real gems.
In the first game, Bill O’Toole of the Naples Anchorage Aces B squad completed a shutout against the Sarasota Calgary Inferno B side, notching up 9 K’s and allowing just 2 walks and 9 hits as his team won 7-0. O’Toole now boasts a very promotable 4-2 record, 1.97 ERA, and just 6 walks allowed in 59.1 IP.
In the second game, the Largo Chicago Pit Bulls B team’s Harry Greenan threw a 3-hit shutout, taking down 5 batters, while surrendering just 3 walks and 3 hits in a 2-0 win over the Fort Myers Dallas Lawmen B.
Greenan has struggled to find the strikezone this season, allowing 14 walks and 39 hits in 49.1 innings thus far, but has made steady improvements and has brought his ERA down to 3.28.
