Toronto’s Aragazzi To Miss Opening of 2018

In Bull Oceanic Winter League action, the Sydney Surfers lost reliever Poto Aragazzi when he left a game against the Gold Coast Stars with shoulder inflammation.

The 18-year-old was scouted by the Toronto Nomads out of Venezuela last August, and added to the club’s rookie roster in November, in time to qualify for selection into the developmental BOWL which started play this month in Australia.

But now, Aragazzi will miss the rest of the winter league, and most likely the start of rookie ball in May.

The right-hander had just completed a 2.0 inning, 33-pitch outing on the 19th, where he allowed 4-hits but gave up no runs while striking out a pair of batters and walking one. He was 7-pitches into his appearance yesterday against the Stars when he left early with his injury.
