Spokane North Stars Take Home Heifer Cup

(GAME DATE – Sep. 19, 2020) — The AA-level Heifer League playoffs wrapped up recently, and the Minneapolis Ravens’ farm club, the Spokane North Stars, took home the Heifer Cup in a 3-game sweep of the best-of-five finals against the Madison Cyclones, the Boston Brawler’s affiliate.

Right fielder Takaaki Takahashi put in a huge performance in the finals, hitting .364 with 4 home runs and 6 RBIs against the Cyclones, earning the series MVP nod.

The Heifer Cup win is the first for the North Stars, who have only made one other finals appearance, in 2014, the second year of the Heifer League’s existence.

Spokane’s Murray Terry was named Pitcher of the Year for the Barn League (one of the two subleagues in the Heifer League), and teammate Mike Lamoureaux was awarded the Reliever of the Year honors.
