PLAYER OF THE WEEK CHOSEN

Ryan Silcox, of the Seattle Salts B rookie team, based in sunny Lakeland, FL, has been selected as the FRL Player of the Week for this week.

From February 13 to 19, he went 12-for-27 (.444), with one homer and five RBIs, in what was essentially a “pitcher’s week” in the league.

His team, however, has struggled through the winter rookie ball season, which began in mid-January. The Salts are 13-20 (.394) and 7½ games behind the Gulf Coast Division leader, Naples-based Anchorage Aces B.

Silcox played 34 games in what was formerly the rookie-level league, the Milk League, over the past two seasons, going .342 with 13 HR and 15 RBI.
