(GAME DATE — August 6, 2020) — “It was a freak thing,” said a dejected Knuckles Malone after injuring himself in a game against New York. The Toronto manager told reporters that he’s expected to miss up to one week with elbow inflammation. The Nomads are expected to announce a roster move in the next day or two.
To date Malone is 16-5 in 24 starts with a 2.44 ERA and has 138 strikeouts in 195.2 innings.
Toronto will miss Malone, as they are toying with a wildcard at the moment and barely holding onto it. Malone has missed time with injuries before and is the team’s hardest working pitcher, often going deep into games. He has 12 complete games so far this season, slightly off his 2019 pace but still enough to lead the Lake League.
