The manager of the Montreal Metros said he always had confidence handing the ball to Joe Niceley out of the bullpen.
The 29-year-old was a dominant performer all year for Montreal and his efforts have been rewarded with the Lake League Woodchuck Trophy for 2016.
The bullpen ace had an impressive 0.92 ERA this season, with 20 saves in 35 relief appearances. He fanned 44 batters in 39 innings and sported a record of 4 wins and 3 losses.
Danny Hooten of the Chicoutimi Cinquantes finished second in voting, while Jesus Carrillo of the Boston Brawlers finished third.
