Media analysts hailed Toronto’s signing of Knuckles Malone, one of Bull Baseball League’s brightest stars, as a pivotal move.
While the deal is certain to raise a few eyebrows, Malone is expected to earn every bit of the $224,950,000 promised him over 9 years.
In his career Malone has a 10-4 won-lost record with a 1.46 ERA. He had a promising start to 2016, going 3-0 with all his wins coming on shutouts, until he was sidelined with an injury on June 23, with a torn meniscus, which ended his season early.
Some critics have said the contract extension is putting too much faith in the starting pitcher, who has yet to prove himself after initially winning a Rookie of the Year award in 2015.
