Seattle’s Reed Out For Season

It was the worst possible result after tests late Tuesday night confirmed that Aaron Reed suffered a serious injury to an elbow ligament in a game against the Miami Storm tonight.

Reed hung on till the 8th inning, holding the Storm to 1 run on 4 hits, striking out 5 and walking 4, earning his first win decision on the effort.

But the 31-year-old right-hander, a key component of the Salts’ rotation who went 9-6 last season with a 2.68 ERA, will now miss 9-10 months as he likely requires reconstruction surgery.

“Reedy” is in the last year of his contract and now faces an uncertain future when he returns from his injury. Previously earning $10.5 million a year, the top rated arm may be in question after this injury.
