(GAME DATE — July 30, 2020) — The Chicago Pit Bulls swapped 26-year-old minor league 3B Orlando Leandry for 30-year-old LHP Ricky Naugler of the Dragons after what New York officials would only characterize as “difficult” negotiations.
For the season Leandry is hitting .200, batted in 2 runs with no home runs and 2 runs scored.
Presently Naugler has a 5-11 mark in 21 starts with a 5.36 ERA. He has given up 167 hits in 131 innings, struck out 84 and issued 54 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .313 batting average against him.
Chicago is rumored to be working on another trade as the deadline approaches, but this one sends a developing third baseman to contenders, New York, while retooling Chicago picks up an all-star veteran lefty arm who could fill a starter role or provide effective innings out of the Pit Bulls bullpen.
