The Toronto Nomads are still in control of the weekly power rankings after the second week of baseball concluded yesterday, and no one is more surprised than the Nomads and their fans.
Expecting to just toy with .500 this season, the team has jumped to a hot start, first on the back of shutdown pitching, and now with the hot bat of right fielder Adam Russillo, who is firing on all cylinders.

Russillo has earned the Player of the Week nod for his flurry of hits adding up to a 12-for-23 (.522) performance, with a home run and trio of RBIs to go with those hits. He’s been on a hitting streak since the 20th, including five multi-hit games.
“Rusty” is now .444 on the season to lead the Lake League. Additionally, he might be one of the best first-pitch hitters in the league right now. He’s 4-for-8 this season on first-pitch batted balls, including two of his doubles and one home run. With runners in scoring position, he’s hitting .412.
