Toronto Nomads ace Knuckles Malone, and Anchorage Aces outfielder William Glanz were injured today and will miss the remainder of the regular season.
For Malone, elbow tendinitis was the cause, and and the injury is not expected to have lasting effects, but he will miss an opportunity to get an 11th win, and set a club record.
This is Malone’s 3rd injury since the All-Star break, and his second injury that has removed him from the lineup this season. His rash of injuries, dating back to his 2016 injury that saw him exit the season after just 4 starts, is leaving the club with serious questions about the health of their right-handed knuckle-baller.
Anchorage also lost William Glanz, and the playoff bound Aces do not seem to be too phased by the loss. Club insiders explain that they have a lot of depth at the outfield position and have managed well with their pitching staff, headed by potential rookie of the year and Sandy Koufax Award contender Jose Soto.
