“I’m just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well,” said Maise. “And not try to do too much.”
Starting southpaw pitcher Frasor Clause, who has been off to a rocky start so far in 2020, notched his second win and improves to 2-5 on the year, but is still saddled by a 6.85 ERA and 1.68 WHIP.
Ohio was off to a decent start, going 15-13 (.536) through April. But May has been a different story, and the team has mustered just 6 wins so far all month, including the current 3-game win streak. They have not won a series since they went 2-1 against Boston in a series that wrapped up May 1st. Their struggles lately come despite leading the LL in team batting average, at an astounding .304, and ranking second in OBP, Slugging, OPS, and home runs.
