“Sore.” That’s how Koji Kondo (LF – Arizona) described his situation to BNN after he got a herniated disc making a defensive play against the Tidals. Team officials say they expect Kondo to be out of commission for about 4 weeks.
The 33-year old, 5-time All-Star outfielder signed a 2-year deal with Arizona last November, worth $8.2 million a year, after spending five years with the California Tidals, where he earned two Bull Cup championship rings.
So far this spring, he is batting .278 with 3 HR, 12 RBI and 9 2B in 30 games.
Kondo is no stranger to the disabled list, having had two stints on it in 2016, including a concussion in late August which ended his season early.
