Conch Socks it to Brawlers, Cracks 5 Hits

(GAME DATE — May 15, 2020) — No matter what the Boston Brawlers threw him today, Jan Conch hit it. The 30-year-old Toronto Nomads left fielder racked up 5 hits in 6 at-bats today at Constitution Stadium and led the Nomads to a 13-7 victory.

Conch struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Al Woodridge in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Conch has struggled this season, hitting just .236 to date, with 9 home runs and 30 RBIs. He has played in 37 games. In contrast, he had a tremendous first season in Toronto after being traded from the Calgary Inferno on May 30, last season. He hit .308 after joining the Nomads, and had 22 home runs, driving his season total up to 31.
