Calgary Takes Championship Series in Deciding Game

To the chagrin of fans everywhere, American Eagle League Championship Series had to end eventually.

But pushed to the final game, it was the Calgary Inferno coming out on top of the Jacksonville Ravens in the classic series. Calgary won the final game by a score of 3-2 and took the series 3-2.

“The final game of the series is tough on the nerves whether you’re a fan or a player,” said Calgary left-hander Fernando Latorre. “I think we did a good job of controlling our nerves and doing the job necessary to win.”

Latorre was named series MVP, as he put up a 0.00 ERA over 9 innings pitched. He added 12 strikeouts with a 1-0 record.

The Calgary Inferno will play against the Ohio Oxen in the next round. Ohio won their series against the Boston Brawlers 3 games to 1.
