Calgary, Seattle Make Deal

(GAME DATE — July 13, 2020) — Both sides appear content with the trade finalized today that will send 31-year-old LHP Jian Ju and 24-year-old minor league RHP Ryuki Hirano to the Seattle Salts, while the Calgary Inferno will receive 27-year-old minor league LF Allen Kennedy.

“This is a move that filled a few gaps in our roster,” said Andy Turnbull, Inferno general manager.

For his part, the Salts GM said the trade was made “in the best interest of our organization’s future.” BNN analysts reported that on paper the trade seemed to be a plus for both ball clubs.

Ju has taken the mound for 19 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 0-2 record with a 5.32 ERA. The Seattle reliever has limited opposing batters to a .266 batting average.

Kennedy is batting .300 this year with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 6 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 40 at-bats. He is currently on the disabled list, but is expected to return within the next 10 days.
