Battle Creek, Seattle Confirm Trade

The Battle Creek Attack and Seattle Salts opened the off-season trading period with a three-player deal that will see veteran Attack catcher Mike Jennings go to Seattle for 2B Jon Fulcher and minor-league CF Matt Birdsong.

Jennings has hit .200 through six seasons in the major-level, but had sort of a “break out” year in 2017 after hitting 24 HRs, 54 RBIs, and scoring 44 times despite a .190 average and 132 strikeouts over 95 games.

Fulcher promises to be a boost for Battle Creek, as well. The 30-year-old finished 2017 with a .308 average over 33 games, a career high for his five seasons at the Bull League level.
