Season, Possibly Career, Ends for Bull

The Christchurch Christians have made it official: Troy Bull is headed to the disabled list. The 19-year-old reliever has been out since 10/20/2016 with a damaged elbow ligament. He is expected to miss 17-18 months.

Back on October 13, Bull pitched in one preseason game, recording a loss decision on an 8.1 inning outing in which he allowed 9 hits and 2 runs.

But in his first regular season relief appearance, on October 20, he tweaked something in his arm and left after facing just two batters – one was walked, the other flew out.

Just 12 big-league pitches into his baseball career, Troy “Papal” Bull now faces agonizing questions about his possible return date, and whether he can recover fully after missing up to 18 months.
