Reyes Hits for the Cycle

(GAME DATE – May 11, 2020) — Gabel Reyes accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball today when he hit for the cycle against the Milwaukee Hops in the 19-1 Minneapolis Ravens win at Brauhaus.

Afterward, Reyes acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Ravens win.

“Maybe one day I’ll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game,” Reyes said.

On his historic day, he went 4-for-6 with 6 RBI and 3 runs scored — and also got a spot in the history books.

Reyes hit a three-run home run off Jim Torelli in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th.

This season Reyes is hitting .270 with 5 home runs. He is the first player to hit for the cycle since Miami Storm third baseman Xavier de Soto did it against St. Petersburg on July 26, 2018.
