Montreal Metros relief ace Joe Niceley earned a spot in an exclusive club today when he picked up his 100th-career save in the 6-3 victory over the Hamilton Crusaders at Industrials Ballpark.
“When I pitch, it usually means we have a chance to win the ballgame, so I have to always be at my best for the team to win,” the 28-year-old reliever said after stopping the Crusaders on no runs and no hits in his 1 innings of work.
So far, Nicely is having an incredible year with a 0.99 ERA over 27.1 IP, and his 14 saves puts him tied for 3rd in the Lake League.
