League Gives Campbell and Alder 6-Game Suspensions

Brawl ERUPTS IN NEW YORK GAME

A bench-clearing brawl marred the New York-Kingston game at Minutemen Ballpark yesterday and resulted in two players being suspended today by the league office. The Minutemen Eric Campbell and the Cannons Ron Alder were ejected from the game for fighting. Both players will have to sit out 6 games.

This season Campbell is batting .242 with 24 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 10 times and has 9 runs batted in.

This year Alder has a 6-4 mark in 12 starts with a 2.61 ERA. He has given up 74 hits in 96.2 innings, struck out 82 and issued 23 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .214 batting average against him.

Both teams are fighting for a wild card position in the Lake League.
