Two well-known Danny’s, ‘The Rajah’ and ‘Golden Boy’, have extended their hitting streaks to 20 or more games and are still going strong.
The American Eagle League hitters have been decimating opposing pitchers all month, with Calgary’s right-fielder, Danny ‘The Rajah’ Huertero, hitting up a storm since June 10, when he went 2-for-5 with a home run against Nevada. A total of 21 games later, he’s hit safely in each game and averaged .365 in that period, with 31 hits, eight for extra bases, along with 12 runs and 14 RBIs.
Meanwhile, Norfolk Sharks shortstop Danny ‘Golden Boy’ Sanchez started his streak on June 12, and since that time has averaged .485 with 32 hits, 21 walks, 22 runs and a trio of homers, while just striking out 4 times. He picked up the AEL Batter of the Month award for June during that time, and was the AEL Player of the Week for June 19.
The Rajah faces Jacksonville hurler Tomas Maldonado today at home, where Huertero has been particularly effective, hitting .423 during his streak. Norfolk’s Golden Boy Sanchez continues a series against Nevada, and will face southpaw Al Mota today.
