Francisco Erazo of the Kingston Cannons earned his membership in the exclusive 1500-hit club this afternoon at Cannon Field. The 38-year-old second baseman got his milestone hit in the Cannons 6-3 triumph over the Toronto Nomads. Erazo went 3-for-4 for the game.
Lifetime Erazo is hitting .309 with 336 doubles, 17 triples, 240 home runs, 842 RBIs and 978 runs scored. He has appeared in 1386 games to date and delivered 1500 hits.
The 16-time All-Star and two-time MVP has been on a hot streak lately, showing no signs of slowing down with age. He has hit safely in five of his last seven games, and after today’s game, will finish with a batting average of .286 in July.
