Elimination Round Goes the Distance, Boston Prevails

Depending on your loyalties, the Elimination Round was either thrilling or heartbreaking.

The series went down to its final game, with the Boston Brawlers and the Montreal Metros giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Brawlers came out on top, winning 2-1 at Metros Ballpark today to take the series 3-2.

“We’re lucky to be going into the Championship Series,” said Boston pitcher Zong-ming Gang. “If all the series are like this, it’ll definitely be an entertaining postseason.”

Gang earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .368 average, with 1 home runs, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored.

The Boston Brawlers don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the New York Minutemen – Ohio Oxen series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece, and their fifth and final game is in progress. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Elimination Round finishes.
