Today was Tony Maldonado‘s turn in the rotation for the Melbourne Dockers and he made the most of it, shutting out the Newcastle Nuclears on 3 hits.
The 29-year-old left-hander led the Dockers to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing 2 walks and tallying 8 strikeouts.
“I hope we miss him next time,” Newcastle manager Dylan Maccarone said. “Maldonado certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds.”
