After a day off, the Bull Cup Championship Series resumed tonight in Calgary, Alberta, where the Ohio Oxen moved to within one game of winning the Bull Cup. The Oxen took down the Calgary Inferno on the road at Inferno Park by a score of 3-2. Oxen left-hander Frasor Clause was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Oxen a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Bull Cup.
Juan Toothry, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Oxen organization, aided the Ohio cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4 with a double.
“I’m just happy to help the team win,” Clause told the Ohio Times.
Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 at Inferno Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Heath Smokem for the Oxen and Ronald Baldwin for the Inferno.
