Mass Bay Law College Maulers 3B-man Willie Ware lit up the basepaths in a game against Cape Breton College Scots, tonight, with a searing 5-for-5 performance, in a breathtaking 12-0 rout over their Atlantic coast rivals.
The 22-year-old Ware had the exceptionally rare successful outing despite facing promising Scots’ starter Dave Angeles, who has normally used his changeup to devastating effect, but could not solve Ware on this outing.
Ware easily took player of the game honors, as he fashioned his five hits, including a double in the 3rd inning with a runner on off of Angeles, and then a 5th inning solo homer off Jessie Burrell.
The Minneapolis native is batting .484 with 10 home runs, 19 RBIs, and 20 runs scored thus far in just 16 games. Mass Bay plays their second game of two against Cape Breton tomorrow.
