The Dallas Sports Academy Bats cashed in 10 runs on their way to trouncing the Guadalupe HS Slashers in the Nor-Am High School (NAHS) World Series, as the action continued for game two in Dallas tonight.
The Bats held the Slashers to just 3 runs, while a Grand Slam from RF Ben Price, and a three run shot from Adam Cash provided the bulk of the offense for the Independent Schools Conference champions.
RHP Gary Lowry earned the win for Dallas, as he struck out 10 and walked 3 through 7.2 innings. Guadalupe High’s Dan Lemieux, a native of Ottawa, Canada, was hit with the loss.
The 17-year-old Price was named Player of the Game for Dallas. The big slugger took the NAHS Triple Crown this year, batting .444 with 18 homers and 58 RBIs through the 42-game high school season. Due to his age, he may not be eligible for this year’s draft, as the eligibility list will be posted on May 1, and the left handed hitting Price turns 18 on May 17. But if his NAHS season and playoff performance is any indication, he will command lots of attention if and when he does enter the draft.
Dallas Sports Academy Bats are tied with Guadalupe HS Slashers in the series 1-1, and play a final deciding game tomorrow.
