Injuries are something every team has to deal with. That fact struck home for the Pit Bulls when after today’s game against the Nomads, the club found out they would be without the services of Les Groves for at least 3 weeks.
After the game, his manager said of the incident, “You hate to lose anyone to injury. That’s always a negative.”
Groves was injured earlier today being hit by a pitch and suffered a bruised wrist.
(GAME DATE — May 16, 2022) — The Chicago Pit Bulls and the Toronto Nomads have agreed to a blockbuster five-player, 3 draft pick trade, the 14th trade deal struck in 2022 and the 8th involving the busy Chicago team.
The Nomads will send former star closer Nate Kremer, a 2015 Woodchuck Trophy winner, and Dong-kyoon Kim, an effective and disciplined hitting second baseman, along with both a second and third round pick in the upcoming 2022 draft, while receiving 25-year-old slugging first baseman Makanaakua Mano, who was a first round pick for Chicago in 2018 and who won Rookie of the Year just last season, and two AAA-level budding stars, Miguel Perez (LF) and Shannon Stone (1B) along with Chicago’s 3rd round pick this year. The Chicago squad had dropped the first two games of the Bull Cup Championship Series to the Metro League’s Nevada Speeders, and looked to be facing serious trouble with a possible sweep. But they battled back to a 14-7 win in game 3 after the series moved to their home stadium, giving them their first W and avoiding a sweep. The Bull Oceanic Winter League (BOWL) wrapped up its first season of developmental baseball, with the Tunis Freemen capping their season with an 8-3 victory over the Lagos Millionaires, on Friday. And now, two days later, the first BOWL player awards were announced to recognize all of the achievements during the 36-game season.
The Bull Oceanic Winter League (BOWL) has nearly wrapped up it’s first season of developmental winter baseball, after the last of the regular season round-robins games finished yesterday. The knock-out round starts on Wednesday, with the single game semi-final matchups: Lagos-Algiers and Tunis-Melbourne.

The Short Season A-level Milk League, which wrapped up play on August 17, and did not have a playoff, but previously announced the season champions as the Aurora Swashbucklers, has announced their player awards for 2017.
The Cow League season came to a close, with the last wild card spot determined on the last day in dramatic fashion. The last wild card slot was awarded to the Hillsborough Dinos (California) after they defeated the Savannah Salts (Seattle) in a make-up game yesterday.

The AA-level Heifer League’s regular season has come to a close, and the four divisional title winners will move on to the two-round playoff starting tomorrow. The four playoff teams are the Barn League’s Savannah Buccanners, and the Spokane North Stars, and the Pasture League’s Nashville Misfits and the Anchorage Sky Chiefs.
