The Nevada Speeders have pulled ahead of the pack to take the top of the weekly team power rankings for Week 9, after taking the first three against their former AEL rivals, the Chicago Pit Bulls, in the interleague home-and-home series that marked the main event for all teams this past week.

The trade floodgates have opened as teams decide early on whether they are contenders or not. Chicago has pulled the trigger on two major deals that will cement their status as rebuilders right into 2019 and possibly later, while Toronto and Ohio have worked out an exchange of top-level minor league talent that could impact both teams later this season.
First, Chicago has offloaded two rotation features to the Denver Danger, giving them Mario Morales and Greg Whittingdon in exchange for 2018’s NCAA home run champion Brian Goldstein (Iowa) and RF Shintaro Matsushita. The Toronto Nomads have completed a 4-game sweep of the Chicago Pit Bulls in their season opener series at home, with a convincing 3-1 win.

The Bull Oceanic Winter League (BOWL) wrapped up its first season of developmental baseball, with the Tunis Freemen capping their season with an 8-3 victory over the Lagos Millionaires, on Friday. And now, two days later, the first BOWL player awards were announced to recognize all of the achievements during the 36-game season.

The Cow League season came to a close, with the last wild card spot determined on the last day in dramatic fashion. The last wild card slot was awarded to the Hillsborough Dinos (California) after they defeated the Savannah Salts (Seattle) in a make-up game yesterday.
