FRL Week #4: Admirals and Ravens Chase Down Sluggers

The Clearwater Sluggers have maintained their clutch on the top spot in the Florida Rookie League weekly team rankings once again, but the Naples Admirals and Jacksonville Beach Ravens have made impressive strides to catch up.

FRL Week #3: Sluggers Maintain Control

The Clearwater Sluggers are maintaining their stranglehold on the Florida Rookie League after three weeks, topping the weekly team power rankings with 152.1 points. The Miami Motorheads have been unable to close the gap, sitting at second with 135.6 points.

FRL Week #2: Sluggers Take Lead

The Clearwater Sluggers (Louisville) bashed their way to the top of the Florida Rookie League’s Weekly Team Power Rankings after demolishing the Tampa Fighting Moose and the Lakeland Salts in back-to-back series sweeps. FRL Week #1: Motorheads Looking Strong

The Miami Motorheads (Detroit) command the Florida Rookie League power rankings at the end of opening week, following a 3-1 series win over the Jupiter Brawlers (Boston), which came before two more wins to open the Ft. Florida Rookie League Gets Underway

The Florida Rookie League has kicked off across the sunshine state, and Bull League rookies are working off the off-season rust as their clubs’ older pros compete for roster spots at the top level in Spring Training nearby.

The FRL, which began last year as a winter league, was shifted to a spring-to-summer format schedule for 2018, and will play an 84-game schedule in a split season format this year. Continue reading “Florida Rookie League Gets Underway”

First Winter League Accolades Given Out

The Bull Oceanic Winter League (BOWL) wrapped up its first season of developmental baseball, with the Tunis Freemen capping their season with an 8-3 victory over the Lagos Millionaires, on Friday.
