Lahey Takes ML’s Best Bat Award

(GAME DATE — June 1, 2020) – Things came easily for Jim Lahey in May, and the Nevada first baseman has been named the Metropolitan League Batter of the Month.

He won the award on the strength of a .364 batting average, in addition to 14 home runs, 33 RBIs, 35 runs scored and a .461 on-base percentage.

This season Lahey is batting .315 with 20 home runs. Despite winning player of the week six times, and being named to the All-Star team three times, this is the first time Lahey has won the Batter of the Month accolade.
