The Bull Oceanic League has announced their 2016 season player awards today. Competition was fierce in the league’s inaugural season, but few would disagree that the selected players were deserving of their accolades.
Most Valuable Players
Australia – Les Groves (C – NCL) .389/.486/.554, 5 HR, 38 RBI
New Zealand – Harris D’antonio (3B – HAH) .246/.335/.486, 11 HR, 28 RBI
Newcastle catcher Les Groves was a consistent run machine, both in scoring them, and in driving them in, with his overwhelming plate presence. He dominated pitching all year, and led in nine batting categories.
Harris D’antonio was a hard hitting home run basher all year, and ended up high on the leaderboards in the major offensive categories.
